5K Race for Recess

The Page Jackson and Wright Denny Parent Teacher Volunteer Organizations (PTVO) are sponsoring the 2nd annual 5K "RACE FOR RECESS" on Saturday, May 15th in Charles Town. The Race for Recess, which starts at 8:30 am, begins and ends at Jefferson Memorial Park. The race course winds through historic Charles Town. Proceeds from the race will be used to purchase recess equipment for both schools.

This 3.1 mile race is perfect for both runners and walkers. Create a fun, family outing while doing something healthy for the entire family!

Pre-registration begins April 1st. The cost for an individual is $20 and for a couple is $30. After May 5th, add $5 per adult. There will be race day registration from 7:30 - 8:15 am. Race day registration will be the $25 per adult. Packet pickup will take place Friday, May 14th from 3:30 - 5:00 at Page Jackson Elementary or race day from 7:30 until 8:15 at Jefferson Memorial Park. Children under 15 are free. T-shirts will be given to adult participants who preregister and while supplies last on race day. There will be a fun run for children who do not run the 5K.

Directions:
From Leesburg- Take Rt 9 towards Charles Town (becomes George Street). Right on Jefferson Ave before you come into downtown. Left on Forrest Ave. Race start at the corner of Forrest and Morison.
From Frederick-Take 340 towards Charles Town. Left on Jefferson Ave (just past track entrance). Right on Forrest Ave. Race start at corner of Forrest and Morison.
